I'm a Band Parent... What Now?

  • Can I take my student home after a game or competition?

    • Yes, BUT only if the Travel Release Form is completed and signed by the LHS principal. Form must be received 4 days prior to the event. Find form in the “Forms” section of this website

  • Does my student need a physical to participate in band?

    • Yes, Ms. Settle MUST receive physicals by 8/1/2020

    • Physical Forms can be found in the "Forms" section of this website

  • What is RankOne?

    • Forms (i.e. UIL, Release Form, Physical, Medical Information) required to participate in band will need to be completed through RankOne

    • Parents will need go to RankOne website. You will need your "Students ID number". Ask your child for it or it can be found on progress/report cards

  • What should I expect on Registration Day and when does my child register?

    • Registration is on Saturday, August 8th; Seniors from 8am-9am, Juniors from 9am-10am, Sophomores from 10am-11am, Freshmen from 11am-1pm.

    • Multiple stations will be located in the main cafeteria. Parents and students will be able to register, purchase necessary items through Tarpley, purchase Spirit items, get assigned a locker, and get fitted for uniforms (in band hall). We can take cash, check, or card. We can also set up a payment plan if necessary.

  • How can I keep up with the schedule?

    • LHS Westerner Website and Band app

  • Best place for announcements

    • LHS Westerner Website and Band app 

    • An email will be sent to parents, so please sign up to receive emails.

  • Where can I sit at games/contests?

    • Home games: family and friends can sit in the section above the band section

    • Away games: most times family and friends will be sitting alongside the Westerner Band

  • What are boosters and how do they help my child?

    • Westerner Band Booster is a parent run organization. We are all volunteers that dedicate our time to help provide your students with an enjoyable and rewarding band experience. Please help us meet this challenge by volunteering your time and talents. Your child and the rest of the band family will reap the benefits of having a supportive group provide the essentials needed for a successful year. We welcome all parents and look forward to know you and your students.

  • I lost a form that needs to be completed.

    • Most forms and important links can be found on the Forms section of this website

  • How do I volunteer to help the band?

    • Complete background check on TEAMS  first. It is best to complete now even if you don't think you will be able to volunteer because the approval process can sometimes take awhile

    • Listen out for announcements

    • Check on LHS Westerner Website

    • Check on the Band app
