There are many opportunities throughout the band season to volunteer in a variety of ways. Can't leave the house? No worries, we have something you can help with. The band booster board will periodically send emails requesting help. We need everyone to volunteer throughout the year. Parents, don’t wait to be asked to volunteer. We understand conflicts arise and we can’t always be there for everything, but please do not think, “Oh, they can do it without me.” WE CANNOT. It takes a band village, and it’s all about the students. They need you! Don’t wait to be asked. Ask us “How can I help?" Get involved! It's fun and you can meet other parents with the same interests as yours. Some of these new friendships last a lifetime. If, for some reason, you sign up to volunteer for something and then find out you are unable to do it, be sure to let someone know so another person can fill in.

​ Below are some fun and easy ways to get involved in the Westerner Band.

​

• ​Chaperones for games, competitions, trips

• Pit Crew to help with percussion instruments, props, sound equipment, loading and unloading instruments/equipment

• Game Day Crew, includes a variety subgroups such as Plume Crew, First Aid, meal/snack servers, “Duty” work, Set up/Clean up

• Game Day Meal Crew pick up meals from designated restaurants and deliver to band hall

• Halftime announcers introduce Westerner Band at the halftime show. Script provided.

• Truck driver for games and competitions

• Fundraising events assist/participate in a number of fundraising activities and help come up with any new and unique ways to raise money

• Sponsorship. Help find sponsors to support the Westerner Band

• Special Band Activities. Assist in planning and preparing for Westerner Band events such as Registration Day, Westerner Kickoff, Senior Night, Westerners at the Maze, and the Band Banquet

• Uniforms. Help with alterations
